At the EMAS day hosted by the Lower Rhine Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Duisburg. Gebr. Grünewald GmbH & Co. KG, represented by our managing director Dr. Christopher Grünewald, was honoured for 15 years of compliance with EMAS objectives.

EMAS = Eco-Management and Audit Scheme is a voluntary instrument of the European Union recognized throughout the world which supports companies and organizations in all sectors and sizes in continuously improving their environmental performance. EMAS organizations help to achieve environmental objectives that go beyond legal requirements. Doing so is ensured by a systematic and transparent process and is regularly monitored by independent experts.

This honour confirms once again the leading role of Grünewald Paper in the field of environmental protection. We are committed to the ongoing design and optimization of our processes in an environmentally friendly way.

Supported by VIA Consult GmbH & Co. KG, Olpe, Grünewald Paper is working on a project to highly improve the efficiency of material resources in the company. The aim is to detect the potential for reduction of material use and then to minimize it.

The first step is an analysis of the order process in its entirety. In the second step the quantified potentials are transferred into precise actions for direct implementation in all divisions.

The effects of this project are expected to be considerable material economies and a harmonization of workflow.
